What is Moment Psychology, who are you and what do you do?
Moment Psychology works with early interventions for mental health, turning highly specialized knowledge into practical advice and tools. We have around 20 employees – psychologists, organizational consultants and physicians – all passionate about making a difference for people. We create health and quality of life.
How come you chose to work together with Wellr?
Wellr and Moment share values around the importance of spreading research-based knowledge in the health sector. We have come to know Wellr as a company with a big heart and genuine commitment. Wellr’s concept feels strong, and together we can spread knowledge that can truly prevent ill health.
In what way will you at Moment Psychology help make the Wellr platform better?
Today, mental ill health is the main cause of sick leave, and we know which preventive behaviors work. We hope to be able to spread this to many people so that the Wellr platform has every opportunity to create healthier employees and reduce sick leave.
In what way do you think Wellr can help improve employees’ mental health?
I believe many people are both curious and motivated to learn more about how they themselves, and how the organization, can work to promote mental health. Wellr makes it easy to access research-based knowledge that has great value when put into practice. The entire platform is concrete, with built-in exercises that help people move from thought to action.
Mental ill health is one of the most common reasons for sick leave in Sweden today. What do you think is important in order to reverse this negative trend in the future?
I think it is important that we learn to apply the knowledge we already have, and that we manage to distinguish all the nonsense that exists in the health sector from knowledge that is worth spreading. For the latter to be possible, many actors in society must take responsibility. For example, in schools it should be mandatory in the subject of physical education and health to learn how to strengthen one’s mental health, and in workplaces every safety inspection, work environment initiative and wellness allowance should naturally also focus on mental health. Today, many people know a lot about what benefits physical health, but the level of knowledge about what benefits mental health is lower – and that is what we want to change! The great thing is that good mental health increases the chances of good physical health, and vice versa.
