Söderberg & Wååk want to change the way we work with movement and exercise in the workplace

Söderberg & Wååk want to change the way we work with movement and exercise in the workplace

With a broad approach to training and by seeing each individual in the group, they aim to get Stockholm’s companies moving more. “We want every employee in the company to be able to take part in the training. That’s why we’re happy to call ourselves movement consultants,” say Åsa Söderberg and Cecilia Wååk at Söderberg & Wååk.

Both come from the world of sports and have a solid background that few in the industry can match. Cecilia “Ia” Wååk has, among other things, been head of treatments at Grand Hôtel, is a certified PT and massage therapist, and has worked with health promotion since the 1990s. Åsa Söderberg is a licensed physiotherapist, PT, nutrition advisor, and the author of several cookbooks for a healthy lifestyle.

Their breadth and long experience are also one of the keys to their new, unique corporate concept, which means they always adapt the training setup to the needs of both the group and the individual.

“In this way, we can, in a cost-effective manner, reach everyone in the company in one and the same training session. It can mean anything from shared group exercises in work clothes to serious recreational athletes who want to prevent injuries or optimize their training. We want everyone, regardless of fitness level and experience, to be able to work out and have fun together.”

There is a lot of research showing the importance and benefits of physical activity. In addition to the pure health gains, it also increases concentration, stress resilience, and creativity – something most companies should be interested in optimizing among their employees. Ia and Åsa are both passionate about helping people move more. With the help of their positive energy and expertise, they hope to contribute a new and enjoyable approach to movement in the workplace.

“Beyond group training, we have many other services for companies. Everything from fascia treatments, PT at the office, and physical conditioning to various types of training and movement breaks at conferences. We want people to view exercise as something positive and easy. That’s why we strive to be as flexible as possible to lower any potential barriers. We can fully adapt the setup to the company’s conditions and don’t need either a studio or a gym to carry out our activities.”

Many times, they have also noticed that new relationships are formed during the training sessions.

“We’ve seen how colleagues who have never spoken to each other before find a common connection and sense of belonging through the training. In this way, the result is not only more energetic and healthier employees, but also a positive corporate culture with strong community and cohesion within the group.”
