Susanne Hjälmered, CEO Nexer Recruit
As a leader of valuable people in our company, I believe it is important that we take care of ourselves and each other, especially in times like these when the world is not quite in balance. That is why at Nexer Recruit we have chosen to invest in our employees by launching a new health initiative together with Wellr.
It is not always easy to take care of yourself in the best way. It is quite easy to skip things, especially when you are swallowed up by a job you are so passionate about. It is also quite easy to pick up habits that are not the best. Maybe you have children (both young and older) who need your time, parents and friends who need your support.
Are you eating right? Are you getting enough sleep? Do you exercise?
Instead of just guessing and going on gut feeling, we decided to really find out how we actually feel and how we can continue to feel good in the long term. We look at our habits and bad habits when it comes to sleep, stress & mental health, tobacco, alcohol, physical activity, pain & injuries, diet & ergonomics.
I see Wellr as a tool for mapping where we are and which areas we should prioritize. A fun feature to increase togetherness and get everyone on board is that you can start different competitions and challenges in Wellr.
Clear results
We have now worked with Wellr for 3 months and, pleasingly, we have already improved in several health areas and our “overall health” has become better. We had many employees in the risk zone for pain and injuries. There we have improved significantly; now no one is in the risk zone. We have also eliminated everyone in the risk zone when it comes to stress, pressure and mental health. Through Wellr, all employees have received a smorgasbord of knowledge and programs delivered to them. With Wellr I can dive deeper based on my individual needs. It can be anything from short video clips for doing yoga, new recipes, mindfulness or training plans, and our employees have embraced these opportunities in a way that I am very pleased with.
As a recruitment company, we also see that candidates today have high expectations of their employer when it comes to health. For an employer to rely solely on the wellness allowance is not enough when more and more candidates are asking questions about how the company works with and invests in health and well-being for its employees. It is about how well you are taken care of and what opportunities the employee gets to feel good and improve.
