Aspia – An investment in employees' health

Aspia – An investment in employees' health

Investing in employee well-being is a given for Aspia. With a strong corporate culture where health and sustainability are in focus, the company wanted to give its employees free access to a platform filled with inspiration and knowledge on everything from exercise and nutrition to sleep and mental health. Wellr turned out to be the perfect solution.

The launch of Wellr became an engaging journey where internal ambassadors played a key role in creating curiosity and momentum. With a step-count competition as a kick-off, strategic communication, and a long-term focus on health-promoting initiatives, Aspia has integrated Wellr as a natural part of its health efforts.

How did you go about launching Wellr internally?

We started by communicating about Wellr to our management team and our managers, who really liked the concept, the opportunities, and the content. After that, we informed everyone on our intranet about Wellr as a great complement to the health and medical insurance via Skandia that we offer all employees. We jump-started the launch together with our Culture Ambassadors, who organized a step-count competition via Wellr, and in that way many people immediately logged in, signed up, and at the same time discovered a lot of other great features in the app.

What role did your internal ambassadors play in driving engagement?

The engagement and the recurring initiatives that Aspia’s culture ambassadors develop and help bring to life play a major role in spreading and activating our various recurring projects and events, so they were definitely a contributing factor to the high level of engagement.

What did you do to create interest and curiosity before the app was released?

By hyping and informing everyone about the upcoming step-count competition (we have a lot of competitive people…) plus opportunities for digital health checks, among other things. But we also believe that the anonymity was appealing, since we chose not to allow any kind of tracking at all – meaning all employees are on the same level and in the same group.

Do you have any plans for how you will continue to build engagement around Wellr going forward?

Yes, among other things we will hold a talk for our managers about the importance of proactive health work and what it actually costs the employee, but also us as an employer when we have employees who are not feeling well and are on sick leave. We will also offer our employees a shorter lecture on menopause and at the same time highlight all the great material available in the app. That’s just a small selection of what we have in mind – there is really almost no limit to what we can do.

What advice would you give to other companies considering launching Wellr?

Go for it! There are fantastic opportunities to use the material that’s available, and it’s only we as the customer who decide what and how much we want to use.

We believe that having some kind of competition at the actual activation in connection with the launch is crucial to getting as many employees as possible to sign up/download/start an account right away.

Our contacts at Wellr are very proactive and creative and are always close at hand if we want to bounce ideas and discuss different possibilities. It’s clear that they are proud of their product and want to help us further improve our work environment efforts.
